Facilitate research processes and support stakeholders throughout the research lifecycle. Promote Open Access initiatives for equitable access to scholarly knowledge. Manage publishing processes, including manuscript submission and copyright compliance. Provide training and education on research methodologies and Open Access publishing. Manage and maintain academic databases to ensure access to scholarly resources. Engage in outreach activities to advocate for Open Access initiatives and library resources. Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in scholarly communication. Contribute expertise to library committees focused on research support services. Provide expert reference services to guide users in accessing scholarly literature. Assess and improve research support services based on feedback and data analysis.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrated experience providing research support services in an academic library or research environment, focusing on scholarly communication, OA publishing, and APC management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Open-Access publishing models, copyright issues,and funder mandates, with experience assisting researchers in navigating these complexities.
  • Proficiency in utilizing library systems, research systems (CRIS) academic databases, and citation management tools, with a strong understanding of research workflows and publication processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, researchers, and library colleagues.
  • Experience developing and delivering training sessions and workshops tailored to diverse audiences on research methodologies, academic writing, Open Access, research data management, and publishing.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in library services, with a strong customer service orientation and a passion for supporting the information needs of library users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced academic environment, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and responsibilities.
